Episode 12: Cris Ross, Putting Service Over Process for Patients

Mayo Clinic CIO Cris Ross shares how his cancer journey reframed patient-centricity—prioritizing patient services, small experience fixes, better listening, and a forthcoming patient-focused book with Ed Marx.

Cris, currently the CIO of Mayo Clinic, talks with Adam and Dan about how his journey as a cancer patient helped him see patient-centricity differently. Part of his perspective includes the need to optimize patient services over behind-the-scenes processes. They also discuss topics like what small things Mayo Clinic is working on to improve their patient experience, how well healthcare is currently listening to patients, and the patient-focused book he is working on with Ed Marx (see episode 11 of this podcast).
